THIS course was named after one of Australia's greatest soldiers, Sir John Monash. Now it is a private golf club situated in a unique bush land setting with a magnificent golf course and superb ocean view.
Situated high in the hills above Narrabeen on the beautiful northern beaches, Monash is an acclaimed par 72 course with superb challenging greens and has a full practise range and facilities.
In December 1957, disaster hit Monash when a bush fire completely gutted the Clubhouse. On top of this, the Club was suffering from one of the worst droughts in history. New plans were drawn up and a much bigger and more luxurious Clubhouse was built in 1959.
This saw the club raised to Group 1 status by the New South Wales Golf Association and was ranked 90th in the 2014 Australian Golf Digest Magazine.
"It was exactly what I was after - the challenging course, terrific practise chipping and putting greens as well as our own driving range."
